SCO Secretary-General condemns strike on Iran's consulate

TEHRAN, Apr. 16 (MNA) – In a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Monday night, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming condemned the Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1.

During the phone conversation, the two sides conferred on the latest regional developments, as well as the relations between Tehran and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

All the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization are concerned about the current situation in the region and demand the return of security to the region, Ming said.

He also appreciated the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran to ensure peace and security in the region and called for the expansion of international cooperation to stop the war in Gaza.

In response to the Israeli terrorist attack on Iran's consulate building in Syria on April 1, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps attacked targets in occupied Palestine with dozens of drones and missiles early on Sunday.

The Israeli regime attacked Iran's consulate in the Syrian capital of Damascus on April 1. The Israeli aggression led to the destruction of the entire building and the martyrdom and injury of the entire people inside it.

Seven of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) military advisors were martyred following the Israeli attack on Iran's consulate in Damascus.
